The second "tea meeting" with the women-residents of Icheri Sheher

Within the project "Collection and separation of municipal solid waste (a pilot project in Icherisheher), in partnership with "Tamiz Shahar" JSC we held the second informational meeting with the young women-residents of Icheri Sheher.

We express our thanks to Fidan Akhundova, Farah Gusein, Rabina Mammadova, Shirinbeyim Mammadova, Ophelia Zamanova, Ilaha Zamanova, Sabina Sadikhova, Elnara Mekhdiyeva, Laman Mirzoyeva, Elmira Agadieva, Khalida Nasirova and Jamila Gasymova for their active participation.

During the meeting, the representative of the Social-Ecological Center "EkoSfera" and a resident of Icherisheher Farah Gusein told about her impressions obtained during the 3-week trip on the theme "Environmental Protection in the United States," U.S. State Department funded under the "International Visitor Leadership Program" One of the tasks of this program, which lasted from June 12 up to July 4, 2010, was, along with other areas of environmental protection and familiarization with the structure and activities of the management of industrial and household wastes, the U.S. experience of public participation in segregation and recycling of wastes.

The meeting was held by Firuza Sultan-zadeh ("EkoSfera") and Leyla Gasymova ("Tamiz Shahar" JSC).
