Today at the Museum of Miniature Book of Zarifa Salakhova we launched our children's information and creative meetings. In the gaming form the little Icheri Sheher residents will be weekly (within two months - from Friday to Sunday) acquainted with the problems of environmental protection, recycling and waste management, segregation of domestic waste, conservation of Natural Resources with the help of the "EkoSfera" experts and the project volunteers, as well as invited craftsmen and artists.

Within the project "Collection and separation of municipal solid waste (a pilot project in Icherisheher), in partnership with "Tamiz Shahar" JSC we held the second informational meeting with the young women-residents of Icheri Sheher.

On July 10  in the office "EkoSfera" we received the representatives of the working group in relation to the network of intercontinental museums SAMP. The subject of the meeting: "The contribution of NGOs in the organization of the museum activity along with public participation." The meeting participants reviewed the activities of our organization, and then jointly discussed the museum's programs and fence-mending of partnerships with the public.
Among the guests were Elisabeth Olofsson - the head of the SAMP organization, representatives of the National Museum of Tanzania considered the biggest in the country, leaders of the Children's interactive museum of the Philippines, as well as boy and girl who are young volunteers of this museum and others.

The project of "EkoSfera" is implemented within the framework of Civic Action for Security and Environment (CASE) Small Grants Programme administered by the OSCE Office in Baku and financed by Statoil and the Government of Austria.
Our "Eko-bags designer" campaign is held under the slogan: "I am against plastic bag!"

Pan-European stakeholders of the Convention on Biodiversity (CBD) met in Gabala, Azerbaijan to discuss strategies, how to move forward, and to identify possible benefits from Pan-European cooperation. CEEweb for Biodiversity 5-6 July organized a preparatory meeting where NGO's from the Pan-European region discussed how to best advocate for effective biodiversity conservation.

"Plant the flowers today!"
In the warm spring evening in the International Earth Day the volunteers of the organization visited Icheri Sheher. While concluding the first phase of the agitation-informational campaign on MSW along with the staff of "Tamiz Shahar" JSC we distributed the flower seedlings for planting among those residents who actively participated in the survey and began the separation of garbage at home.

We celebrated the International Earth Day together with the students of the Baku European Lyceum. The students of three classes - the fifth, sixth and seventh - were working on the "Our Heritage" Project, discussed the award "Ekos" and studied how to compile articles for Wikipedia.

One of the projects that we are completing this spring is the "Our Heritage" project funded by the Culture Programme of OSI-Azerbaijan. This project will bring together regional and school teachers in the field of protection of cultural and natural heritage of Azerbaijan. The main target of the project - is the creation of children's information network "Our Heritage", the interactive map of "natural and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan", the volunteer movement of young guides on our website as well as familiarity with Wikipedia encyclopedia.

Within "Collection and separation of municipal solid waste (a pilot project in Icheri Sheher)" project in partnership with "Tamiz Shahar" JSC we have started to conduct the informational meetings with the local residents. In the course of the agitation campaign a primary survey on the project had been held. The project is carried out by the volunteers of organization - the students of BSU.

Today, together with representatives of Icheri Sheher we travelled through the homes of the local residents and distributed bins for separate collection of household garbage.
